To my loyal readers and everyone supporting Mistreated- What's Happening to Maria?

What’s Happening to Maria?, thank you. Your encouragement, reviews, and messages continue to push this story forward. Your support is helping move the project toward studio submission for the television series, and I am deeply grateful.  If you have read the novel, you already know, the story centers on a difficult question.  I hope you all can keep a secret about the shocking twists throughout the story and an ending no one saw coming.  What happens when our lead character, Nate Lawson, a husband, philanthropist, beloved employer to his household staff, and an NBA player, leaves home for away games?

Behind the mansion doors, something very different is happening.  Maria, the young Latina housekeeper Nate treats like a little sister, is facing mistreatment in secret. Nate is completely unaware. The truth becomes a horrifying revelation that no one sees coming.  It is important to understand that Nate represents the good in the story. He respects his staff and values the people who work in his home. The story does not reflect the NBA|WNBA organization or the sports world negatively. In fact, Nate’s character shows the integrity many athletes bring to their communities.

The shocking events unfold without his knowledge until the moment the truth is finally revealed.  Mistreated is suspense fiction, but it draws inspiration from real world situations that sometimes exist behind mansion walls and within powerful households.  Because of the sensitive themes explored in the story, I also want to say this clearly, If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence or abuse in the workplace, please reach out for help.  Call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233, available 24/7. TTY: 1-800-787-3224,
No one should face abuse alone. Help is available.
Thank you again for supporting the novel and the upcoming series.
